My Dear Friends in Christ,

The Lord Jesus taught His disciples that He was the Bread of Life and that all who ate of this Bread would never hunger. At the Last Supper, He thanked God for the sustenance it provides to us both physically and spiritually, and instructed us to do this in memory of Him.

As the Apostles went forth and shared the communal meal with believers and converts, they came to understand that God our Father welcomes everyone to His table. For 50 years, the Archdiocese of Miami has supported our community as the Lord instructed, fulfilling our duty to be the face of God to all our brothers and sisters.

We are called as Christians to share what we have with those who need us whenever they need us. One of the ways we do this as a community is through the ministries, services, schools and programs supported by the Archbishop’s Charities and Development Drive. Each of us is called to make a difference in the lives of others; alone this can be a daunting challenge, but together, there is much we continue to do.

Let the love of God shine in you and through you for all to see. Make a sacrificial gift to the ABCD and participate as the one body of the Catholic Church in South Florida. Whether you have given generously to the ABCD for many years or this will be the first time you make a pledge, please know of my abiding gratitude for your sacrifice in caring for the least of our brothers and sisters as the Lord Jesus instructed us.
